Wake Up and Smell the Wild: Coffee That Captures Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia

Stepping into Sissaboo Coffee Shop in Annapolis Royal felt like entering a small slice of history wrapped in a warm embrace of charm. The wooden floors creaked slightly as I walked toward a table near the window, a perfect spot to watch the mist drift over the town. The high tin ceiling, embossed with intricate patterns, hung like a decorative relic above, and the walls were adorned with soft, impressionistic paintings. Bright green plants in various shapes and sizes added a touch of nature, while the light from the large windows spilled in, giving the space a cozy, open feel. Locals sat at scattered tables, their quiet chatter blending seamlessly with the hum of espresso machines and the occasional clink of ceramic mugs.

I ordered their Tobeatic Wild roast, curious about the coffee inspired by the vast wilderness nearby. The barista handed me a steaming cup, and as I took my first sip, the rich, slightly fruity notes seemed to transport me into the heart of the Nova Scotia forest. It was smooth and bold, yet with a surprising hint of sweetness that lingered pleasantly. As I settled into my chair, sipping and people-watching, I couldn’t help but think: "This place is so perfect, even the plants look like they're deep in thought."
