Good Craic, Great Coffee: My Visit to Oliver Coffee Bar

Toronto

When I stepped into Oliver Coffee Bar in Toronto, the warm glow from the retro-modern lighting fixture immediately caught my attention. The soft orbs hanging above the counter added a cozy, inviting vibe to the space. Dark blue walls served as the backdrop for a sleek, wooden coffee menu, giving the shop a clean, contemporary feel. The display of freshly baked pastries — croissants, scones, and cupcakes — felt impossible to resist, neatly arranged under glass cloches. The scent of coffee, pastries, and hints of vanilla drifted through the air, blending perfectly with the serene atmosphere of the space.

After ordering a velvety latte that came with perfect foam art, I struck up a conversation with James, the friendly face behind the counter. He shared a bit about their process, explaining how they source their beans and aim to create a relaxed space where people can truly enjoy their coffee. The latte lived up to the hype — smooth, rich, and just the right amount of creamy. As I was getting ready to leave, I said, "You know, if I had spend more time photographing the coffee than drinking it, I would've put a frame around it."
