Quebec City
Wandering through the New Quebec, I stumbled upon Olive Coffee Shop, tucked snugly between two brick buildings. Its black-and-white striped awning, reminiscent of an old-world European cafe, was impossible to miss. I was immediately drawn in by the minimalistic charm, with its wide glass doors inviting in a gentle breeze. Inside, the decor was simple yet thoughtful—neutral tones, clean lines, and a counter adorned with soft textured tiles. The warm lighting gave the place an inviting glow, and a tiny olive tree stood near the entrance, a symbol of peace and patience for those waiting in line.
As I waited for my cortado, a man standing beside me struck up a conversation. He was definitely a coffee connoisseur, rattling off recommendations, I nodded along, eager to try his suggestions, though by the third recommendation, I had to admit I was beginning to lose track. After thanking him, I realized my cup had long since arrived and taken on a gentle warmth in my hand. With a smile, I walked outside, took a sip, and thought to myself: "This might be the only place where the coffee’s as rich as the conversations."
